Gym Anxiety .. It's a THING!!

Who gets Aniety from the thought of this 👆🏻? 🤚🏻🤚🏻That would be me!! ✨Gym anxiety is a thing!! Even for the ones you least expect it from!!✨ Just the thought of going to the gym used to make me sweat .. I had a trainer for awhile and that was alright ...I mean he was really good but so am I ... at convincing people I'm not going to do what they want me to! (Sorry Danny) So I obviously bailed out on going to the gym to sit and talk to the trainer about nothing, just so I didn't have to do what he would tell me to do. STUPID!! 🤷🏻‍♀️

It wasn't until about 3 years later when I started to realize I wasn't getting any younger.. I lived away from all my family, and most of my friends and Mikey was away more and more. All of my pants were getting tighter and I decided I had to do something about it! Mikey and I decided my sisters wedding in Dominican was enough to kick ourselves into gear!

So of course I made him come with me to the gym and I would walk around and really not know what to do .. it was terrifying! I mean it helped a little that the gym I was going to wasn't super busy, but busy enough to make me feel crazy! Eventually I was going somewhat regularly and I knew the equipment, and would go along my business and hope that no one was on the machine I decided I wanted because then that would be it workout ruined! This went on for months and months and then we went to Dominican ... WELL Anxiety to the max the gym was packed and I didn't know where anything was it was terrible! So of course I followed Mikey around and made him help me and had a terrible workout! I couldn't wait to get back to the gym I knew!

Fast forward another few years .. I'm quite comfortable in the gym that I go to .. I even talk to people (Huge for me). But still not super comfortable going to other gyms I started planning my workouts .. ACTUALLY writing down exactly what I was going to do day by day at the gym. When I show up I know exactly what day it is and what equipment I need. I even know what I'm going to do next week and the week after that on each day at the gym! Seems a bit over the top maybe ... but at least I know when I walk into a strange gym with too many people I can walk around and find the equipment I need for my workout that day. (Or at least I can adjust the equipment I use and do the same exercise)

I used to think everyone was watching me at the gym .. but turns out it took about 3 years of going to the same gym before anyone even spoke to me .. so trust me when I say no one cares what you are doing! Ive learned that we are all there to do the same thing, GET HEALTHY and look Good!!

Get yourself comfortable with what you want to do when you get to the gym and being there won't feel quite as bad! It takes time to over come anxiety so dont give up .. ask for help ... and have a plan!!
